Volleyball Recap: The Academy Has No Trouble Against St. Mary's Academy

The Academy not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4th (when they won 3-0). They blew past St. Mary's Academy 3-0. This was a revenge game for The Academy: when they faced off against St. Mary's Academy back in October, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

The Academy was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-20.

Ava Gallegos paced The Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Gallegos got some help from Eva Rodriquez and her 14 assists. Jaelyn Farmer controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

The Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-13 record this season. As for St. Mary's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Looking ahead, The Academy will take on Kiowa in a tournament on Saturday. St. Mary's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
