Baseball Recap: Sterling's Winning Streak Snapped at 11 Games

It was a good run, but Sterling unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 7-4 to the Eastern Vikings. If the Silver Knights were looking for revenge after losing 9-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dean Collins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Quentin Rossano was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Eastern, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Sterling and Eastern should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Silver Knights (ranked 20th) will meet Haddon Township (ranked 265th) at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Eastern will square off against Rancocas Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (10 vs. 114).
