Baseball Recap: Coatesville Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Coatesville dropped their record down to 15-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Henderson Warriors by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Raiders have suffered against the Warriors since May 13, 2021.

As for Henderson, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games.

For Henderson's part, Anthony Barthol spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. Barthol has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Zach Ward was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March.

Coatesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Henderson, they will face off against Strath Haven at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
