            Softball Recap: Sissonville Indians vs. Hoover Huskies        
        
		
        
        
            Sissonville extended their losing streak  to five  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They came up short against  the Hoover Huskies, falling  8-1. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by  exactly seven  runs.
  Lydia Ellis was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with one  run and one  double.
As for Hoover, the  victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-2. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
On Hoover's side,  Hannah Shamblin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. Shamblin has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in ten consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Ayva Veltri, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Katelyn Board, who  went 4-for-5 with one  run and one  RBI.
 Sissonville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  7-6  defeat against Point Pleasant on the 16th. As for Hoover, they have also already played their next match,  a  2-1  loss against Wahama on the 12th.
