Baseball Recap: Uwharrie Charter Academy Takes a Loss

Uwharrie Charter Academy lost against West Stanly last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Uwharrie Charter Academy fell just short of West Stanly by a score of 3-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Logun Wilkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Uwharrie Charter Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Hunter, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jacob Asbill also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Uwharrie Charter Academy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for West Stanly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Uwharrie Charter Academy will face off against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Uwharrie Charter Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Stanly, they will take on Forest Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
