Baseball Recap: Orange Cove Starts Season with Victory Against Mendota

Orange Cove had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Mendota Aztecs 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted against the Aztecs since March 3, 2020.

Josiah Guerra was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Roman Ocejo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Orange Cove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-7 loss against Monache on the 28th. As for Mendota, they have also already played their next matchup, a 19-4 victory against Strathmore on the 28th.
