Softball Recap: Patchogue-Medford's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Patchogue-Medford has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 11-5 to the Riverhead Blue Waves. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hannah Eve and Katherine Wenke stepped up to the plate in a big way. Eve went 3-for-4 with two runs, while Wenke went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewels Atcosta, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Having lost for the first time this season, Patchogue-Medford fell to 4-1. As for Riverhead, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

As of now, neither Patchogue-Medford nor the Blue Waves have any future games scheduled.
