Basketball Recap: Taylor Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Taylor extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 10-3. They walked away with a 56-45 victory over the Western Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Titans also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2025.

Javionne Harris had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 19 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Drey McClatchey, who posted 14 points and three steals.

As for Western, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Western had strong showings from Carter Biggs, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 16 points and five rebounds, and Brett Kallio, who put up ten points and six assists. That was a full 35.6% of the Panthers' points, marking the eighth time in a row Biggs has earned more than a third of the team's points.

Looking ahead, Taylor will be playing at home against Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Western, they will face off against Maconaquah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Braves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69.08 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
