Recap: Gateway Christian vs. Isle of Wight Academy Chargers
Gateway Christian lost against the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Gateway Christian's rough 50-26 loss to Isle of Wight Academy might stick with them for a while. Gateway Christian has struggled against Isle of Wight Academy recently, as their contest on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Gateway Christian players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evalyn Snider, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Avery Roth, who scored six points.
Gateway Christian bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Isle of Wight Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway Christian will take on Atlantic Shores Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they will be playing at home against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
