Softball Game Preview: Eisenhower Eagles vs. Aldine Mustangs

The Eisenhower Eagles will head out to challenge the Aldine Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Eisenhower's victory against Nimitz wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Cougars 11-10 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Wednesday. Aldine beat Westfield by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-16. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Aldine.

Eisenhower's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs. As for Aldine, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.

Eisenhower was able to grind out a solid victory over Aldine when the teams last played back in March, winning 11-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
