Vestal and Maine-Endwell are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Golden Bears will venture away from home to take on the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vestal's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Maine-Endwell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Vestal made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Corning-Painted Post, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Golden Bears fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 7-5 on Sunday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Golden Bears have suffered since April 4th.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Maine-Endwell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Union-Endicott 5-4 on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Emily Bealla was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Isabel Hunter also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Maine-Endwell's record is now 8-5. As for Vestal, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Vestal couldn't quite get it done against Maine-Endwell in their previous matchup two weeks ago as they fell 6-3. Can the Golden Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
