Volleyball Game Preview: Lansing Lions vs. West Chargers

Lansing is a perfect 5-0 against West since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will square off against the Chargers. West took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lansing, who comes in off a win.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lansing and Bishop Miege meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Stags 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since September 13th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Lansing got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 24-26, 25-20.

Meanwhile, West came up short against Maize on Saturday and fell 2-0.

Lansing is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11-3.

Lansing was able to grind out a solid victory over West when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
