Softball Game Preview: Rogers Heritage War Eagles vs. Prairie Grove Tigers

The Rogers Heritage War Eagles will take on the Prairie Grove Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Rogers Heritage will be strutting in after a victory while Prairie Grove will be coming in after a defeat.

Prairie Grove will be up against a hot Rogers Heritage squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The War Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand Houston Christian a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. The War Eagles not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Prairie Grove faced off against Gravette on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kennye White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Prairie Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Burkeley Calvert, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Angelina Petersen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The win got Rogers Heritage back to even at 8-8. As for Prairie Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Everything went Rogers Heritage's way against Prairie Grove in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Rogers Heritage made off with a 14-0 victory. Do the War Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
