Softball Recap: Beaverton's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Beaverton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Reynolds on Wednesday. The Beavers were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over the Raiders. Considering the Beavers have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Zinnia Berg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Berg was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Halle Lafontaine and Tina Padilla did most of the damage at the plate: Lafontaine scored four runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5, while Padilla went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Allium Berg, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Beaverton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win (which was Beaverton's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Reynolds, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Beaverton will take on North Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reynolds, they will face off against Parkrose at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
