Volleyball Recap: Lake Central's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lake Central had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Washington Township Senators 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Danny Smith paced Lake Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Brady Cook and his 26 assists. Cook also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Paul Hilvert, racking up two apiece.

Lake Central's win bumped their record up to 29-6. As for Washington Township, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 20-4 record.

After both having extra time off, Lake Central and Cathedral will shake off the rust and duke it out at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. Washington Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
