Softball Recap: Calallen Picks Up 23rd Straight Win at Home

Calallen had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Friday. They never let the Valley View Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. 15 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Calallen got a massive performance out of Brookelynn Meador, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Butcher, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Calallen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in 13 consecutive matches.

Calallen's win was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Valley View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Calallen will have a chance to go back-to-back against Valley View: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
