            Softball Recap: Cascade Cadets vs. Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs        
        
		
        
        
            Cascade proved they can win big  on Friday (they won by six) and  on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs  9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Cadets have posted  since April 12th.
 Tara Gruca and  Ava Allen did most of the damage at the plate:  Gruca  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base, while  Allen  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  Gruca has posted since back in May of 2024.  Macey Pugh was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with three  RBI and one  stolen base.

 Cascade was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .433 or higher in three consecutive  matches.
Cascade has  been performing  well recently as they've  won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Franklin Community, they moved to 8-6 with that  loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
 Looking ahead, Cascade is taking a road trip to  face off against Franklin Central  at 12:45  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Franklin Community, they will be taking part in a tournament against McCutcheon  at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
