Recap: West Rowan Falcons vs. Carson Cougars
The West Rowan Falcons entered their tilt with the Carson Cougars with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. West Rowan snuck past the Cougars with a 69-64 victory on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Rowan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Givens Jr., who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Elijah Holmes was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
West Rowan pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Carson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Rowan will take on the Spiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Concord is ranked 196th, while the Falcons are ranked 177th). As for Carson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lake Norman Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
