Football Recap: Scott Comes Up Short

Scott had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it four. They had to suffer through a 42-6 loss at the hands of the Cooper Jaguars. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Scott lost, don't look at Trey Cook. Despite the final result, he threw for 193 yards on 17 of 36 attempts, and also punched in one score on the ground.

As for Cooper, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.

Keagan Maher was his usual excellent self, rushing for 124 yards and three TDs, while also picking up 56 receiving yards and one touchdown. Cooper is undefeated when Maher posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cam O'Hara, who threw for 169 yards and three TDs on only seven passes.

Coming up, Scott will challenge Conner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Cooper, they will be playing at home against Boone County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
