Basketball Recap: Leggett Pirates vs. Goodrich Hornets
The Leggett Pirates can now show off 15 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They blew past Goodrich 69-35 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Leggett who now have five in a row.
Joshua Perkins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Gavin Nichols was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight steals.
Leggett pushed their record up to 23-7 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.5 points. As for Goodrich, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Leggett will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Goodrich, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. High Island is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
