Softball Recap: Decatur Central Takes a Loss

Decatur Central lost against Martinsville back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hawks lost 26-8 to the Artesians. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ashyr Lawson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Kenzie Cummings was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Decatur Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Martinsville, their record now sits at 11-14.

While Decatur Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
