Preview: Delaware Academy Bulldogs vs. Deposit-Hancock
Delaware Academy and Deposit-Hancock are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2014, but not for long. The Delaware Academy Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Deposit-Hancock at 1:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Delaware Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against Newark Valley by a score of 21-14. Given Delaware Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Newark Valley is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Delaware Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tanner Bracchy, who rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Bracchy really tore up the turf during one magnificent 85-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Dungan, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Deposit-Hancock can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They blew past Harpursville/Afton 55-14 on the road. The victory was just what Deposit-Hancock needed coming off of a 62-6 defeat in their prior match.
Delaware Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. As for Deposit-Hancock, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Everything came up roses for Delaware Academy against Deposit-Hancock when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 54-0 victory.
