            Manteca is on  a  three-game streak of home wins, while East Union is on  a  five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Buffaloes will welcome the Lancers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few  points on average (Manteca 9, East Union 9.1) so any  points scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Manteca strolled past Oakdale with  points to spare, taking the game  25-7. Given the Buffaloes' advantage  in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 464th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

 A big part of Manteca's  win came down to the chemistry between  Lily Dundas and her top target  Myah Hayter. Dundas threw for 198 yards and a pair of  TDs while  Hayter picked up 79 receiving yards and one  score. Those  79  receiving yards gave  Hayter a new career-high.
Meanwhile, East Union never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Mountain House 20-0. Considering the Lancers have won seven games by more than 19  points this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
The critical scores for East Union came from  Caliyah Lopez,  Larissa Harries,  and  Vanessa Velazquez.
 One reason for the win was East Union's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Makayla Burlingame and  Velazquez, who racked up all six sacks between them.
 Manteca's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for East Union, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
 Things could have been worse for Manteca, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took  an  18-0 loss to East Union in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024.
