Baseball Game Preview: North Olmsted Eagles vs. Normandy Invaders

For the second straight game, North Olmsted will face off against Normandy. The Eagles will challenge the Invaders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, North Olmsted came up short against Normandy and fell 7-4. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Normandy's part, Jensen Vargo made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Vargo also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Normandy is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise. Vargo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Dominic Williams tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Lucas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Normandy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

North Olmsted's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Normandy, their record is now 6-7.
