Baseball Recap: Priory Ravens vs. Whitfield Warriors

Priory won the last time they faced Whitfield and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Ravens walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ravens.

Charlie Edwards and Miles Anstey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Edwards pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Anstey tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. At bat, Edwards went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Anstey went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that Anstey has hit this season.

In other batting news, Nate Huck was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Chuck Taylor also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Priory was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Priory's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Whitfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.
