Recap: Knightdale Knights vs. Sanderson Spartans
The Knightdale Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 34 points or more this season. They really took it to Sanderson for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-24 victory on the road. With Knightdale ahead 40-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Ja?Kiyah Moore continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Those ten assists set a new season-high mark for her. Andrea Watkins was another key contributor, scoring 23 points.
Despite the loss, Sanderson still got an impressive performance from Summer Haith, who scored 13 points. The game was Haith's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amyah Lynn, who scored nine points.
The win (which was Knightdale's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Sanderson, they bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knightdale will face off against Wake Forest at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sanderson, they will head out on the road to face off against Apex at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
