Volleyball Recap: Rock Canyon Comes Up Short

Rock Canyon was the 3-0 winner over ThunderRidge when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Jaguars fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Jaguars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 25-15 in the first set.

Rock Canyon actually scored more points across those five sets (102-95), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-21, 14-25, 25-17, 16-14.

Ray Drennan paced Rock Canyon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Drennan got some help from Chase Carland and his 39 assists. Drennan also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Austin Preisler, racking up three apiece.

Rock Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for ThunderRidge, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Rock Canyon has already played their next matchup (against Highlands Ranch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. ThunderRidge also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Ponderosa.
