Recap: Philo Electrics vs. Lakewood Lancers

The Philo Electrics's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 68-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakewood. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

When it comes to explaining why Philo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Drew Wright. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cooper Radcliffe, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds.

Philo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lakewood, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philo will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Zanesville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Zanesville is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Lakewood will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against West Muskingum at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
