Carson Page was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Carson Topping made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Bingham, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Even though they lost, Fort Zumwalt East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

Fort Zumwalt East's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Boonville, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.
