Baseball Game Preview: Boca Ciega Pirates vs. Seminole Warhawks

Boca Ciega hasn't had much luck against Seminole recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Boca Ciega Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Seminole Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. Boca Ciega has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Boca Ciega is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Clearwater, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Seminole fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Countryside on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Warhawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Seminole saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shane Stalbird, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Boca Ciega's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Seminole, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.

Boca Ciega came up short against Seminole when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 7-2. Can Boca Ciega avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
