Recap: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. East Duplin Panthers        
        
		
            
 The South Lenoir Blue Devils suffered their biggest  loss since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. Their  rough  52-28 loss to East Duplin  might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, South Lenoir can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 375th, while East Duplin is ranked 65th).
 South Lenoir lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Alexus Haddock, who  scored ten points along with three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gracie Tyndall, who  scored ten points along with five  rebounds.
 East Duplin got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Kinsey Cave out in front who  scored nine points along with seven  rebounds and two  steals. Another player making a difference was  JaMyah Pickett, who  dropped  a double-double on 13 points and ten  rebounds.
 South Lenoir has  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost four of their last five matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for East Duplin, the  victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Lenoir will take on North Lenoir at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for East Duplin, they the luxury  of staying home another  game and will welcome Wallace-Rose Hill at 6:30  p.m.  on January 19th. Wallace-Rose Hill is hoping to put an end to  a six-game streak of away losses.
