Football Recap: Pelham Memorial Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pelham Memorial can now relate to. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pearl River Pirates on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Pelicans in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

Pearl River got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was TJ Lanese out in front who threw for 181 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 42 yards. A healthy portion of Lanese's aerial production (113 yards to be exact) went to Kieran Fitzgerald, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Pelham Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Pearl River, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

As of now, neither Pelham Memorial nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
