The Woodlands Highlanders will be playing at home against the Klein Collins Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Woodlands walked away with it. They blew past Spring, posting a 35-0 win at home. Given The Woodlands' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Spring is ranked 348th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
The Woodlands relied on the efforts of Quanell Farrakhan jr., who gained 125 total yards and three touchdowns, and Patrick Miller, who threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72% of his passes. Jackson Bolender also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Klein Collins waltzed into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They really took it to Cypress Ranch for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-20 win at home. With Klein Collins ahead 35-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
The Woodlands' victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Klein Collins, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record.
