Soccer Game Preview: NCSSM: Durham vs. Raleigh Charter

The NCSSM: Durham Unicorns will square off against the Raleigh Charter Phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. NCSSM: Durham will be strutting in after a win while Raleigh Charter will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, NCSSM: Durham needed a bit of extra time to put away East Wake Academy. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but NCSSM: Durham were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Raleigh Charter didn't have quite enough to beat East Wake Academy last Wednesday and fell 3-2.

Anisha Kathpalia and Tori Lutz scored both of the Phoenix's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

The win got NCSSM: Durham back to even at 5-5-1. As for Raleigh Charter, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

NCSSM: Durham was able to grind out a solid victory over Raleigh Charter in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Unicorns repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
