Softball Game Preview: Regis Rams vs. Culver Bulldogs

The Regis Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Culver Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Regis' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

Regis' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Central Linn 16-0. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Azzilin Smith, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Morgan Clary also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Regis hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Culver came up short against Gervais on Friday and fell 29-24. The loss put an end to the Bulldogs' undefeated start to the season.

Regis' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.0 runs this season. As for Culver, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.

Everything went Regis' way against Culver in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Regis made off with a 29-19 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
