Luke Verch turned in nothing short of a gem on Tuesday, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with two or fewer walks. On the season, he has an ERA of 1.68 over 25 innings pitched.

Even though Verch couldn't lead Reedsburg over Sauk Prairie, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sadly, Verch's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Beavers' eight-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, Verch and the Beavers surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Friday's match.
