Volleyball Recap: Apple Valley Falls Despite Big Games from BRYNLYN CHITTICK and SALLY BALLAT

Apple Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Sultana Sultans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sultans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 19-25, 25-16.

Apple Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of SALLY BALLAT, who had ten digs and four aces, and BRYNLYN CHITTICK, who had five aces, four digs, and three blocks. BALLAT is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Brooklyn Kelly had an outrageously good game for Sultana as she had 22 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Kelly has posted since back in September of 2024.

Apple Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Sultana, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Apple Valley will head out on the road to take on Oak Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Sultana has already played their next contest (against Hesperia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
