Basketball Recap: East Ridge Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but East Ridge had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 76-53 margin over the West Port Wolf Pack. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-69 back in December of 2024.

Isayah Smith was a one-man wrecking crew for East Ridge as he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Joshua Joehill, who went 10 of 16 en route to 24 points.

East Ridge's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-17. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 29.9% in those games and 29.3% outside of them. As for West Port, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season.

East Ridge will square off against Apopka on Wednesday. East Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 games -- so hopefully Apopka likes a good challenge. West Port does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
