Softball Recap: North Baltimore Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

North Baltimore waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Allen East Mustangs by a score of 7-4. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Allena Lennard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jayme Zeigler was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Avery Benedict, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

North Baltimore's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Allen East, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Baltimore will square off against McComb at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Allen East, they will face off against Columbus Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
