East Duplin had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs 21-0. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 21-15 loss the last time these two teams met.

East Duplin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shawn Davis, who rushed for 70 yards and one score.

East Duplin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keeshaun McKinney and Dwayne Davis.

Coming up, East Duplin will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they are taking a road trip to take on Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
