            The Proviso East Pirates will head out on the road to  challenge  the Schaumburg Saxons  at 3:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Schaumburg took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Proviso East, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, Proviso East beat Addison Trail 51-41.

Proviso East's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Zulema Montoya, who  posted 14 points in addition to five  boards and four  steals. That's the most  points  Montoya has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Ava Kimble, who  put up eight points and five  steals.
 Proviso East  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 11  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least nine  offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, Schaumburg was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss. They were beaten by Palatine 50-22. While losing is never fun, the Saxons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings  (they are ranked 450th, while the Pirates are ranked 193rd).
 Proviso East has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight games,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record  this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Schaumburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-18.
