Baseball Game Preview: Morrison Mustangs vs. Dakota Indians

The Morrison Mustangs will square off against the Dakota Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dakota took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Morrison, who comes in off a win.

While Mustangs fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hinckley-Big Rock on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Kaleb Schroeder made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance gave him a new career-low in hits. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Schroeder wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kamden White, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Dakota fell victim to Rock Falls and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. The Indians have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.
