Soccer Game Preview: East Surry vs. West Wilkes

The East Surry Cardinals will head out to face off against the West Wilkes Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

East Surry is headed into Tuesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They lost 3-0 to Forbush on Friday. That's two games in a row now that East Surry have lost by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, West Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against Wilkes Central, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, West Wilkes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 506th, while Wilkes Central are ranked 156th).

West Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for East Surry, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
