Baseball Preview: Genesee Wolves vs. Atherton Wolverines

Genesee is a perfect 3-0 against Atherton since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wolves will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Genesee will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Bentley, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wolves blew past the Bulldogs 15-9 on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Logan Ball made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Genesee let Landon Miller and Dominic Collins run wild. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Genesee now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Atherton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Genesee beat Atherton 14-11 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
