Baseball Recap: Richmond Hill Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Richmond Hill waltzed into their match on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They didn't even let the Stuyvesant Peglegs on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Lions have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Abel Ortiz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Duarte, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Richmond Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Richmond Hill's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Stuyvesant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Richmond Hill nor Stuyvesant have any future games scheduled.
