Flag Football Recap: Chugiak Comes Up Short

Chugiak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost to the Lathrop Malemutes at home by a 21-6 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 19-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Isabel Sjostrand threw for 103 yards on four of 14 attempts. Shelby Strange was her top target, picking up 66 receiving yards.

Chugiak's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Lathrop, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Chugiak didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 32-18 loss against Bartlett on the 29th. As for Lathrop, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 19-13 victory against Bettye Davis East Anchorage on the 27th.
