Football Recap: Stone Mountain Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Stone Mountain had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it 11. They took a blow against the New Manchester Jaguar, falling 65-12. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 56-6 to the Jaguar when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for New Manchester, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 62.0 points this season.

Andre Gianopolous was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 180 yards and four TDs on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Delancy Alexander was another key player, throwing for 233 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.

Coming up, Stone Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Anne-Pacelli at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Manchester, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kennesaw Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th.
