Baseball Recap: Union County Find Success

Union County's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Santa Fe Raiders by a score of 5-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fightin' Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.

Erick Lasseter made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Lasseter was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 matchups.

Lasseter wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was DEVIN DIGGS, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Union County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory got Union County back to even at 11-11. As for Santa Fe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Union County will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. As for Santa Fe, they will challenge Suwannee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
