Soccer Game Preview: Palmetto Ridge vs. Bonita Springs

The Palmetto Ridge Bears will challenge the Bonita Springs Bullsharks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Palmetto Ridge will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Palmetto Ridge's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Cape Coral by a score of 2-0. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Seahawks are ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jonathan Tamayo and Salma Mehdi scored both of Palmetto Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bonita Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over First Baptist Academy on Tuesday. Considering the Bullsharks have won seven games by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bonita Springs' win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those seven matchups. As for Palmetto Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9-4 record this season.
