Volleyball Recap: Central Wins High-Profile Contest Against Rawlins

Central faced Rawlins in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Indians came out on top against the Outlaws by a score of 2-0. That two set margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.

Central easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-17.

Shayne Spencer paced Central's offense, picking up six kills. Spencer were helped by Breck Custis and Chaney Birt, who contributed four assists each.

Central now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Rawlins, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Central will be playing at home against Douglas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. After both having extra time off, Rawlins and Burns will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th. The game will give the Outlaws their first taste of in-conference action this season.
